"I started with a $250 Heinkle knife set and then purchased a couple Shun knives at about $120 each about 2 years ago. These are packaged very well as you can see from the photos and they include a keychain, instructions and info and a sheath for the knife which is handy on occasion I guess but I won't be using it. Some have commented that they worked on their blades a bit to get them even sharper but as I see it, that's more of an obsession than a need right out of the box. I tested it on the hair on my arm and it shaved a spot smooth in 2 light strokes so it's pretty darn sharp. For me, I bought this brand and blade with little research compared to my Shun knives but so far I'm very happy."

This is truly a nice knife, seriously the edges of the handle are smoother than the big German companies. The professionals know that gfs or similar companies sell gigantic carrots some nearly 2.5 inches thick and those tend to be a pain for my older knives. I love that this blade is wider than most nikari's I've seen and it does a great job allowing you to scoop and transfer veggies off the board. Well I've only run it on the steel once and it came right back to being sharp enough to stop against the cutting board which is how I like my knives."
