"Great horn."
"This is a great horn for those who like the warm dark sounds of large orchestras, but if you want good intonation and security, get a different horn. It does deliver very dark tone, a reasonable intonation basis, and it gives the player the ability to play much louder without getting quite as crass as smaller horns. Not every horn player will notice this or care for this technical issue, but with the technique I am using, it is crucial to have perfect intonation centers on the horn. For a long-lasting, professional horn, I suggest custom horns made by Jacob Medlin, which is where I hope to purchase one of my next horns. These intonation centers are spot on and the custom horn is assured to deliver the ability to play with many colors while still maintaining integrity of the classical horn sound."
"Nothing major, just a soldering joint would come loose once every 4 years. The low register speaks clear and beautifully, the high register speaks really clear."
"I loved this horn for everything that I ever played on it - all the major solo works as well as the orchestral works sound as if they were made just for this horn."
"It's an excellent horn with great tone, but it's very very easy to sound brassy if played loudly."

"One of the strings broke within the first six months but the band teacher got it fixed."
"Purchased this Mendini MFH-30 double french horn after comparing it to a few other sub $300-400 French Horns on Amazon in July 2017. My impressions when ordering this horn: -The thing I liked about this horn over the others in the price range is first it is a double french horn, there were some cheaper single F horns that looked nice for a little less but a double french horn is needed. -The second thing is that the bell is part of the horn on this model and does not detach like the other double french horn I was looking at on Amazon. Now I have a son that has been playing the French Horn in middle and now high school and we were looking for an instrument so we could play together to advance his skills and also so he would have an instrument to practice in between checking out and turning in his school instrument during the school breaks. The hand strap is already on the horn and the nice thing is that the tuning and valve slides were well greased and easily removable from the horn."
"However, none of this affected the sound or playability of the horn (I quickly restrung the offending valve.)."
"This horn according to more seasoned church orchestra members(high school music teacher and a professional trumpet player) has a nice sound and tone."
"Nice sound, perfect for beginners, 10% of the price the school was asking for renting an instrument like this."
"My horn keys are very stiff."
"This horn is only a practice horn, and has cost me a lot of money to repair, the button strings."

It is a standard French horn suitable for beginning students. 4- key double french horn.
Reviews
"To get oil where most of the valve motion happens, the tuning slides have to be pulled off and some oil dripped into the tubes, while the instrument is held in a position which will let the oil dribble into the valves. Removing the slides messes up the tuning, which is annoying, but the valves move much better if they get oiled in there."
"Need to learn both Bb and F horns but the sound is easy and mellow which is a good place to start."
"It's Christmas present for my daughter."
"had some scratches on it when I received it."
"I purchased this French horn for my 18 year old daughter who began playing her junior year of high school."
"It has a removeable bell, and it can be played even without it."
"I'm a major brass enthusiast, and I've never picked up the horn before, so I decided I would buy this cheap one. UPDATE: Valves have already gotten quite sticky, and as I play it more, I realize how horrible the intonation is. An octave jump on this horn always have a half step difference, and sounds very bad. UPDATE II: After playing this for a few more weeks, the intonation has improved and the horn can produce quite a decent sound. I'm also an idiot for not using the correct valve oil, so my rating has changed from 4 to 5 stars. It's still not the best Horn, as the trigger is annoying, but I'll definitely continue to enjoy this, months later."
"Time window is up to return product."
