"The violin though is beautiful both in looks and sound, it comes with adjustable sound and tone knobs which gives you the ability to make the violin sound deeper or higher depending on preference."
"Great violin for the price."
"I've only been playing an electric violin for a few months but I like this much better than the acoustic violin I purchased 3 years ago."
"This violin is pretty solid for the price."
"The false labeling is that the product states that it is silent, but it is not. Once I received my product, it was all great until I tried the G string."
"This instrument, when played through headphones, is about as loud as an acoustic violin with a big orchestra mute on. This is ok if you're already a fairly experienced violinist (in other words, you need some callouses) but new players may have some sore fingers for awhile."
"This violin is everything that I wanted and so much more."
"The location on the bow where it broke points to it being a weak spot in the wood when it was shaped. However I did read a lot of the reviews and knew what I was getting, I had also purchased another bow, new strings, peg drops and a shoulder rest."

"Also, I've only had this instrument for a little less than a week... but I WILL keep updating this review as time goes on. My bottom Line: To purchase this instrument at such a low price is a fantastic deal. Growing up, playing the violin, it was hard if not impossible to find a quality instrument at such a low price (I spent $125 on this instrument). THE INSTRUMENT. Pros: - This is a solid-body electric violin, meaning no feedback!! - Acoustic production: This is indeed a remarkably quiet violin (when not listening to it through headphones or speakers, of course). But if you have a fantastic pair of headphones with new strings (more on that later) this instrument can sound very, very nice. - Acoustic sound: The sound quality is not very good without headphones or speakers that are loud enough to cover up the acoustic production. Regardless, when I'm tuning the instrument or replacing the strings, I don't want any slippage period. - Overall: Changing strings and applying peg drops requires a certain comfort level, but I'm sure you could bring it into any violin shop worth their salt and they could change the strings for you for free if you so desire (provided you purchase new strings from them). The instrument is really what you pay for, and it's still a steal if this was all you received at a little over $100. - Compartment for rosin, peg drops, etc. - Cloth to cover violin included. OVERALL: You will need new strings, peg drops, an extension cable (I purchased a 20 ft female 1/4" jack to 1/8" plug at radioshack for about 10 bucks), headphones/earbuds, and patience. **Update** 06/13/2012. - Concerning the faulty aux cable, I contacted Cecilio Musical Instruments and I promptly received a helpful response."
"the sound quality without earphones is horrible, with ear phones they are a little better, but still no where as good as an a caustic violin."
"I just got this violin today and it was a immediate disappointment. My G String broke before I really got to tune it. I went to a local music shop and bought medium grade strings (Cost me $21), which are awesome and definitely improved this violin."
"The head phones are cheap but the sound is ok. They connected to the Honeytone amp bought them for their electric guitar and that amp makes it sound just like a guitar or violin. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Honeytone/N-10-Guitar-Mini-Amp-Aqua-1273887999546.gc. I know they are going to out grow the violin, they are only 7 and 9 years old."

"Based on function, sound quality and value, this is a great instrument. The wood is quality, with a very good sound, and a nice responsive tone. The German violin was bought at a flea market for $65 and I actually assumed it was not a good instrument and bought the Fiddlerman and Cecilio without even having the German model assessed by a luthier (would have cost $150 and I did not think I would get a good result). If you play very well or if you have outgrown your Bunnel or Cecilio and want a violin you can keep for years, but are still on a budget, get the Fiddlerman Apprentice. If you're a good player and on a budget, get this Bunnel and a new bow and strings and you won't need to get another violin for maybe three years. It's not great, but it is very, very good and you'll be pressed to find a violin that will play better if you are a violinist with less than five years of playing. Or if you are in that five year or under category and have more than $200 and less than $500 to spend, get the Apprentice and spend money on a better bow and better strings."
"However, many of the reviews would lead you to believe that this violin would sound and play like a much more expensive violin. She has a much more expensive violin that she has been playing regularly but the hassle of carrying it to and from school everyday and the potential for damage led us to look for a second violin for school orchestra so she could keep her regular violin at home for practice and only take it out for concerts and a more advanced orchestra in which she plays on weekends. This Bunnel violin is to be that second violin."
"On Amazon, I looked at both “Kennedy Bunnel Basic Clearance Violin” and the “Bunnel G2 Violin Outfit”. If you are looking for a violin that has a great sound and don't mind some cosmetic issues, the Bunnel Basic is a fantastic deal.” I took their advice and bought the Bunnel Basic Clearance Violin. ), YouTube videos to begin learning the basics of playing, and I just had my second violin lesson with my violin teacher last night."
