"The weight of the sax pushes on the two arms to auto grip the bell. I then bought an alto sax and a second stand (same adjustable as first)."
"I also bought an add-on peg stand for a trumpet since I play both instruments in a couple bands, and it works like a charm also."
"I ordered a non-gripping stand, and it was OK, but I didn't trust it enough with people walking by the sax."
"Wonderful stand."
"This stand mostly works as intended."
"I enjoyed this stand for a while, and I knew I payed good money for a more sturdy stand that holds my instrument better."
"Then much less chance of it tipping over."

The only real weakness, for me, is that the angle of the instrument on the stand is less suitable for playing. The OnStage stand has a slight forward tilt to it, which makes it very good for leaning over to take a solo. I recently did a concert with a very fast switch from tenor to alto sax. As long as you are careful to align one of the three legs on the side of the sax, it's stable. If you have the "open" side facing the sax, however, it wouldn't take much force to tip the stand over towards you. For an alto sax, the angle is just fine for playing with the instrument resting on the stand. I don't think the angle is significantly different from the OnStage version, I simply wasn't used to playing a tenor in that way."
"It does break down to a reasonable size for packing; the top part unscrews and the bottom collapses.I also have Hercules single and double guitar stands and love them both."
"strong, professional and steady."
"It works great with tenor or alto and it truly does enable me to easily play the horn while it is on the stand!"
"Works great with my Saxophone One Mute."
"I wanted a tall stand to keep my sax closer to my height without requireing me to stoop."
"Works great."

Adjustable backrest for both alto and tenor sax.

"I have had great experiences with the Hercules alto sax + flute/clarinet stand and the Hercules flute stand in the past, so I jumped on this as well, since the other stands (especially the alto stand) are very very solid. The bari stand, though, has a couple problems."

"perfect stand for the Bari and tenor."
"Sturdy, collapsible, adjustable, handles my bari and tenor."
"The tenor sax peg is very sturdy as well."
