Best Automatic Drip Irrigation Kits
Three simple steps to install this kit: step 1 - connect to water source, step 2 - lay out the supply tubing, step 3 - attach the pre-assembled water lines. The timer and supply tubing are threaded just like a hose, making it easy to hook up and start using your system.

Find Best Price at Amazon"Finally after about a week of very little water reaching my plants, I happened to pop one of the emitters off of its tube while the system was running. I ran over to the hardware store, got a 25 psi water pressure regulator, and put it on the outlet side of the timer."
"The timer works great (Another tip : I read it may not hold up well in rainy weather, so I cut a ziploc baggy to fit around it and clipped it shut) and the manual watering and rain delay capabilities are awesome. I don't have any idea if my water source has a high or low psi, so I just proactively purchased the Raindrip psi regulator (all my drippers drip and drip consistently with it attached to the timer) so you may wanna consider that purchase too (it leaks a little, but the package clearly states it may or may not leak LOL) I am by no means an expert, but I read enough sh*t about drip irrigation for containers that I will definitely recommend it and if for some reason it fails, I would have no issues buying again because of good price and ease of install (all you need is scissors!!)."
"Buy a short hose...the kind that's about a 6" long with a little spring is ideal; this relieves the strain if anyone happens to bump the timer. For example, in hanging pots be sure that you set them up so that when the wind blows the pot the hose will not be pulled out."
"What I found helped was to have cups of boiling water that I dipped the tubes in to soften them up before trying to attach the connectors. I clustered my plants together so I had a lot of tubing left, but had just enough t-connectors and bubblers. For some reason I thought the left was number of times per week so I ended up flooding my plants for setting it on 3x 10 minutes. I wasn't able to pull out the connectors once attached and had to cut and use a new connector or cut it out of the hose any time I made a mistake."
"Cherry Tomato, cucumber, eggplant, spearmint, rosemary, dill, two types of basil. Attached is a pic of part of the deck garden earlier this spring and now (July) - and yes, the bag planters work wonderfully!"

"I bought this kit to supplement an irrigation system i was building, it had many fittings and parts that i only needed a few of and are of high quality, i also needed a pressure regulator that is included in the kit, as a stand alone kit this is excellent value with good instructions, and, as in my case it is an excellent package to use parts of and have spares for any bespoke system you may be building, the supplied little tool is handy and does make the job of pushing the drip feeders into the half inch pipe easier, the quarter inch pipe is strong and and can be a little difficult to push onto the fittings, but only because it was a very cold day, dipping the ends of the pipe in hot (not boiling) water made it easy, overall, a very good product."

"I needed to water some plants in a bed somewhat remote from our raised beds and the 250 ft of line was perfect for that. I also converted some pots from random lengths of soaker line to discrete emitters; .5 gph for the small pots and 1 gph for the larger."
"This does come with a hose connector while the other one comes with a manifold but I recommend Orbit 67000 Apollow 8 Manifold which has 8 connections that are individually adjustable and the cap screws on making a lot easier to disconnect a line and plug it. The kit comes with. 250 feet of 1/4 inch tubing. hose adapter (female fits on male end of hose) with filter. 10 stakes that clip over the hose or connector. 10 bug caps (these require a short piece of hose fit over the emitter but are easy to slip on). 10 0.5 GPH blue. 20 1.0 GPH black (I used these the most). 10 2.0 GPH red. 20 Ts with one barbed end. 20 couplings. 10 plugs for capping a line. It came with a tool to help attach the pieces to the hose but I personally prefer my fingers."
"Well that would seem to make sense but if you use the T connectors to go different directions or of course use the drip hose (brown one) then those will also need terminators and there is only 1."
"For the curious: Flow Rate: The *measured* flow rate @ 30PSI and 30ft long of the 1/4 tubing is about 24 gallons per hour (90 liters). Good quality connectors and tubing, but unfortunately, large assortment of *SHITTY* drip emitters. Find Best Price at Amazon"Few things: - The "hose adapter" is NOT a hose adapter, it's not an FHT (Female Hose Tread), you WILL need an adapter. (4mm ID). Having purchased a Rain Bird kit and this one, I would respectfully suggest that you spend the extra few bucks and get the Rain bird: With the Rain Bird, you'll get a timer, a real 1/4 in adapter, a real 1/2 in hose adapter with a 150 mesh, and a bunch of volume controlled emitters."
"Heads up - the orange sprayer/misters can be finicky but I got them all to work correctly by taking them apart, switching heads, or just working with them a bit."
"a very good starter kit I do recommend getting a good pair of scissors to cut the line segments that you need I tried it on my potted plants outside didn't work out in the long term for me but very good product so I would definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to try drip irrigation and you can just look at your set up and be able to put together something to fit your needs with little headache or frustration."
"I am having to order other drip emitter spikes to supplement the small amount that comes with this kit."
"I'll note though, that that i only used the sprayers that could attach to the t-fittings."
"The orange capped nozzles have a wide range from slow drip to dispersed mist. I did run out of stakes, but those are cheap from any local hardware store and I over-staked as it is."
"I installed a 30' long watering system in my balcony, supplied by a mini-pump from a bucket (had to take care of the hydrostatic aspect of it)."
"The railbird tubing I bought does not come off the water connector at all, but at least a couple times a week I have to go an re attach this tubing."

A Single Treegator Original bag fits tree trunks from 1 to 3 inches in diameter, while a Double Bag Setup (2 Treegator Original bags zipped together back-to-back) can be used on tree trunks from 4 inches to 8 inches in diameter. 2 single bags zipped together maximum water capacity is approximately 50 gallons (189.27 liters).

Find Best Price at Amazon"the treegator is a well built device with many not-so-obvious features and also a few drawbacks. it can: *give deep penetrating water to roots that would take a person with a hose about 20mins to do per tree. *it can be stored flat as a shopping bag when not in use. *it can (when full) provide some stability to the root ball during high winds. it can't: * it can NOT be filled and then transported to the tree, when unzipped(when full) the bag sprawls out and can not be rezipped (until you empty the bag).this is important to anyone who wants to water a remote tree with no hose access."

Best Automatic Irrigation Controllers
Control watering with the power of your voice. Rachio will automatically skip a scheduled watering cycle when rain is predicted and adjust watering times as the seasons change, saving you water and money. Stop guessing - input zone details like soil type, plant type and sun exposure to let Rachio automatically set up the best watering schedules for your lawn.
Reviews
Find Best Price at Amazon"I researched smart irrigation controller options, choose the Rachio 2nd Gen, and really couldn't be happier. I have enabled the Rachio skills pack with our Amazon Echo, which is very neat, but at this point, it's more of a novelty for me. I just think tapping a couple buttons in the app is so easy, sometimes getting the exact wording right and the Echo hearing me correctly is more trouble than it's worth. I think it's light years ahead of the past generation of controllers in terms of water savings and landscape care, and I think Rachio has done a fantastic job with the user interfaces and logic, which is no small feat."
"Rachio makes this level of control the entry level, adding many more levels of water management that it almost seems like you have your own groundskeeper monitoring the weather forecast, evaluating what type of soil, runoff, and plants/grass. In my new house, the existing Hunter HRC 9-zone controller was ok, but how could I live with a Hunter fixed schedule controller after having an internet "cloud" irrigation solution... The Rachio Iro 2nd Gen 16 zone arrived before the irrigation was needed in Ohio. I couldn't bear the thought of someone buying it used and missing the water saving opportunity of a cloud irrigation controller. Plugging in the Iro to the wall and controller, I used the cell application to register the controller. This isn't my first Rachio Iro rodeo, so defining each zone with the name, type of irrigation heads, what is being watered (flowers, shrubs, grass, etc. Now my OCD kicks in and I use a soil moisture hydrometerDr.Meter® Moisture Sensor Meter, Soil Water Monitor, Hydrometer for Gardening, Farming, Indoor/Outdoor Use (4-in-1 Advanced Version) to put in an initial setting for the zone as well as use a laser to measure the area of the zone Laser Distance Meter, Handheld Range Finder Measure with LCD Backlight Display, Area/Volume/Distance/Pythagoras Calculation, Self-Calibration Rangefinder, Tape Measure 0.05 to 40m(0.16 to 131ft). My municipal water only allows watering on 3 days of the week depending on your street address, astrological sign, and great grandmother's maiden name (the one you liked). Even though the flexible daily or flexible monthly schedule may be the most effective for water savings and ensuring watering is only when needed, limiting to 3 days a week still gives the Iro opportunity to skip and change watering duration based on weather data and seasonal impacts. Both the shocking nature of seeing how many gallons are really used when you are watering, and the gratification of how much you are saving when the Iro skips, easily justifies the purchase of this controller. Other features that seem to just make sense are the cycle approach to watering and the newly added manual controls on the Rachio Iro. When watering, your Iro will break a 15-minute watering session into multiples - so instead of watering a zone for 15 minutes, it will water it for 5 minutes, go to the next zone, finish all zones, then start another cycle that will water the zone another 5 minutes... going through all zones... finally completing a 3rd cycle to finish. This minimizes oversaturation and runoff, allowing the water that you are spraying to soak in, using less total water for the same impact. But if you just want the guy that is fixing the last spray head that you destroyed with the lawn edger, he can turn on and off a zone by cycling through the manual controls on the panel itself... nice upgrade from 1st gen."
"I had to put mine outside of the house and it still works with a weak wifi signal."
"Therefore, I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the controller vs. a traditional irrigation controller. Overall this is a great controller and even if I don't realize much in terms of water/cost savings, the ability to control my irrigation wirelessly via the mobile app is enough to justify the expense and far exceeds the usability for today's consumers over traditional controllers."
Best Automatic Irrigation Sprinkler Heads
The Orbit Yard Enforcer is the easiest and most effective way to keep deer away from the garden, repel dogs off the lawn, and deter cats out of flowerbeds. Only deterrent sprinkler with both night and day detection options, so you can select different detection settings for different times of the day.
Reviews
Find Best Price at Amazon"I was given the task of protecting a cherished persimmon tree from the predation of a platoon of raccoons. All year we'd see one or two in the yard and when the persimmons were ripe we'd hear a noise one evening and find a dozen of them spread around the tree while three specialists were knocking fruit off of the branches."
"If you're thinking of using this device to deter armadillos ....or any determined pesky night raiders ...there is one glaring fault with the Enforcer; when activated it will only run for a maximum of *10 seconds*; it can be set to run anywhere between 3 to 10 seconds. With a maximum of 10 seconds run time the sprinkler head might fire a dozen times before it shuts off ...amounting to about a 1/4 circle of travel. Considering there is almost a 180 degree field of sensor "view" it would be nice if the sprinkler could be set to at least run long enough to cover that field of view. The Enforcer allows you to increase your field of fire by adding two additional sprinkler heads. By the time there was sufficient pressure in the hose lines to fire the sprinklers most of the 10 second run time was used up; and this was using only two sprinkler heads. You have the option of using three sprinkler heads; the stock head plus two others on hoses. Had there been the ability to set a maximum of 30 seconds this dual sprinkler set up would be much more effective ...as would the maximum three head setup. It needs to be adjustable to at least 30 seconds or more to be effective at deterring a broader range of invaders and especially when set up with multiple sprinkler heads. I would have liked to have awarded 5 stars to this device but it's biggest failure is a too-short maximum run time; connect additional sprinklers to it and you will just about render the device ineffective."
"I had the Contech Scarecrow before which didn't work very good, it had problems such as the battery compartment not being water proof and water shorting the batteries out and erratic operation."
"4) Now unscrew the motion sensor from the mounting arm by turning the small “attachment knob” located just behind the "head" of the motion sensor. A long screw will come out with the knob along with a washer, a ring, and another washer. 7) Now your motion sensor is closer to the ground and you can adjust the angle of the sensor up or down by loosening that attachment knob, then changing the angle of the detector and then tightening the screw to hold the new angle in place."
Best Automatic Underground Sprinkler Systems
Rain Bird 32ETI Easy to Install In-Ground Automatic Sprinkler System Kit. This all-in-one kit includes everything needed to install a complete underground sprinkler system capable of watering an area from 1000 to 3,000 square feet; conveniently sourcing water from any outdoor hose faucet. This system offers do-it-yourselfers a more efficient, automatic way to achieve a beautiful, green lawn without having to drag out a hose or remember to move a sprinkler around. The dependable 32SA Rotors feature Rain Bird's patented Rain Curtain nozzle technology which delivers a rotating curtain of large water droplets that fall exactly where you want them and resist windblown overspray. Water disperses evenly from nozzle to end of stream to reduce watering time and save money. The robust 1ZEHTMR hose-end timer features a large display and simple programming allowing users to enter a desired watering schedule for any days of the week they choose up to two times a day. The sophisticated, yet simple timer is easily customizable to comply with local watering restrictions or other specific needs, such as watering sloped areas and avoiding runoff. System not designed for expansion: adding additional tubing length or rotors may impact system performance including reduced spray distance, rotor non-rotation, and rotors not popping up to water.

Find Best Price at Amazon"Still worth it if you are looking for a solution in a box. Amateur-Tip #1: instead of using a flat shovel as Rain Bird suggests (which admittedly would make a nice, clean strip of grass), use a spade shovel with broad areas to step on at the neck (this will save the bottom of your feet). Amateur-Tip #2: Before beginning, use a Dremel or some other grinding tool to sharpen the blade of the shovel to axe-like sharpness (be VERY CAREFUL, this effectively weaponizes an otherwise safe shovel). I bisected the section at the defect and attached the two parts with a straight fitting that is provided in the box. This spring I invested in a 1" 3-valve manifold and the b-hyve smart timer both by orbit. Overall I suppose I could've just installed a more professional-grade system in the first place, but I would still recommend this kit for anyone who has not installed an irrigation system before because this comes with pretty good instructions and everything you'll need to get the job done—just keep an eye on those timer/valves."
"If you can cover your area with 5 heads instead of six you'll accomplish two things: 1.). You can increase one and maybe two (bepending on the length of your run) of the sprinkler heads from the 0.75 orfice to a 1.0 and definetly one of them to a 1.5. If your running the system on the standard 0.75 orfice installed you will most likely be dissatisfied."
"It was easy to install and covers much of our front yard, sorry I'm not good w/ square footage but our yard is pretty huge and this provided coverage for better than half of the front of it."
"We had a tough time getting the sprinkler out of the hose and ultimately had to crack part of the plastic stuck in the hose in order to disconnect the broken sprinkler."
"The timer I got, though, had a defective LCD panel, good thing it had enough for me to program it."
"Easy to install if you are patient and enjoy working on you yard, if not I recommend to ask for help because it will take time and some dirty work."
"The plastic tubing pieces attached to the timer cracked leading to water leaking spraying near the inlet. This is causing one particular area under the tap soggy."
"Sprinklers tend to leak."
