"For each of the installation I purchased a 12 inch by 2 inch plate with holes and a 4x6" plate with holes, from the lumber department at Home Depot, at a total cost of $2-4 per solar light, and a package of screw/bolts for each solar light.I attached the two plates in a cross fashion with the screws/bolts and nuts and lock washer to be sure the assembly does not begin to loosen up over the years. After attaching the two plates to each other, I attached the solar light to the wide plate with the bolts and the washers, and then anchored them to the eaves or gutters. "The spike and petaled base stand are plastic not metal like the case of the light. The coverage pattern is basically a square/round one so if you are trying to cover a wall or surface that is much wider than it is tall (ranch house or two or three car garage for example) this may not be the best solution unless you buy multiple. Here in the Phoenix area at Christmas that meant it came on around 5 or 6pm (no daylight savings time here) and it did seem to be turned off the few nights I went to bed at around midnight or later. One star docked for plastic spike and base and the not user selectable on/off system."
