Best Wild Bird Feeders
GUARANTEED SQUIRREL PROOF: supported by an impressive list of patents, our feeders are recognized as the leaders in the squirrel proof category. The weight of an adult squirrel automatically closes the seed ports, denying access to the seed but not harming the squirrels in any way. Our patented Seed Ventilation System permits humidity and hot air to escape through the vents at the top of the feeder and replaces it with fresh air.

Find Best Price at Amazon"So when I first purchased the Brome feeder a couple of weeks ago, I posted the below comparison between this Brome feeder and the Yankee Droll feeder. Also, because it is 100% squirrel proof (squirrels cannot get any seeds loose like with the Yankee) keeps the seeds in the feeder longer, and therefore I do not need to replenish as often as only the birds get them. Both bird feeders work great, and these are the ONLY squirrel proof bird feeders on the market that actually do work, so here are the differences: The Brome does not require a rechargeable battery, the Yankees does. The Brome is not as entertaining to watch the squirrels as the squirrels cannot get to the holes where the seeds are. The Yankees allows the squirrel to get there just so it can flip them and throw them off the feeder, thus an entertainment to humans."
"The bigger birds like Grackles can't get any seed either."
"The squirrels chewed off several parts from our last one and Brome sent us replacement parts hassle free."
"During daylight hours three bears (my neighbor saw them) got my feeder taking it into the woods and clawed, mauled and tore it apart. The customer service person offered to send me a new plastic tube free of charge even though they don't cover bear damage."
"Perfect bird feeder and the squirrels cannot feed from it."
"I live in the woods and I love to watch the birds but I hate the squirrels that are always trying to steal the seed."
"The Brome 1024 Squirrel Buster Plus is a great bird feeder."
"I own two other types of feeders of a different design which the birds use."
GUARANTEED SQUIRREL PROOF: supported by an impressive list of patents, our feeders are recognized as the leaders in the squirrel proof category. CHEW PROOF: all feeder parts exposed to squirrels are made of chew proof metals or RoxResinTM, a remarkable 100% chew proof, waterproof, rustproof and UV stabilized material. "This "squirrel proof" feeder just survived a bear!"
"I believe the many squirrels that live in my back yard can read and thus know of this product."
"I have almost a dozen squirrels that used to regularly come and raid my bird feeder. It used to be there were just one or two and I didn't mind providing bird seed for them, but with this many they monopolize the feeder and the birds don't even get a chance. It looked good but was quite a bit more than I wanted to spend on yet another "squirrel proof" feeder. I had to put the hook in the ground at an angle to keep the feeder far enough away from the shaft that the squirrels couldn't reach over, but it seems sufficiently stable. The small size is a plus as far as the squirrels go since it gives them less to hang on to, but it is going to mean filling the feeder more often. I've attached a short video of squirrels trying to attack the Squirrel Buster Standard. It's really an issue of incompatibility of the seed I have with this feeder, not so much a problem with the feeder itself, but it's something of which buyers should be aware. With seed mix like this the feeder may appear full from a distance but no seed is getting to where the birds can get at it. The birds have to poke their beaks in a ways to get at the seed and the smaller opening keeps inside the feeder most of the seed that would otherwise be scattered. This feeder does keep the squirrels out but the rate of spillage is such that it almost doesn't matter. The feeder empties just as fast as if the squirrels could eat from it."
"The Good. This feeder attracts all sorts of birds to the yard. The Bad. If your bird seed is chunky, the dispensing ports are quite small and food will get stuck in the ports, thus clogging the other food from falling down. The instructions say dishwasher safe but I put the feeder in the dishwasher on the top rack and the inner seed tube melted."

"The only thing I'd note is that in wet freezing weather the little button on the lid that you push in in order to slide the lid up the string so you can fill the feeder sometimes freezes, however the button is so small that bringing the feeder inside for a couple of minutes or even just holding your fingers on it sometimes warms it up enough to move it."
"I have a copper hummingbird feeder and this somewhat matches."
"I am so happy while writing this review as I hoped it would take around a week for them to find out."
"July 20, 2017 update - my feeder came crashing down around 10pm one night last week when the clamp/arm holding it gave way."
"[ SEE UPDATES BELOW ]. SUMMARY: (i) a nice looking feeder made of easily rusting steel with a thin copper-colored finish in some but not all of its parts, misleadingly having "copper" in its name; (ii) lid coverage against rain is very poor and the food clumps as water wicks up the seeds inside the feeder; (iii) has inadequate water drainage holes that clog when using small seeds; (iv) rust development on both coated and uncoated surfaces in less than 6 months of use. The feeder therefore will not develop a patina with time but mere rust, particularly under the lid, where there is no cooper finish, and the perch ring, where the birds feet and claws eventually rub off the finish. The clogging demanded a daily cleaning of the holes to avoid the water in the tray reaching the seeds inside the feeder by capillary action and clumping them. Also, with the feeder hanging 8 feet above ground and no nearby structures from which to jump, squirrels have been unable to reach it despite their long Machiavellian looks to the feeder while sitting erect. UPDATE June 2016. After 6 weeks of use, the cleaning of the draining holes at the bottom of the feeder has become an obligatory chore after any significant rain, if a feed mixture containing small seeds (e.g., white millet) were used. If the cleaning were not done for more than one episode of rain, water accumulates in the tray and quickly wicks up the seed inside the feeder --especially along its vertical center axis-- as shown in Fig. UPDATE October 2016. After 5 months of use, rust has began to appear on the steel surfaces, both those powder coated with a thin copper-colored finish, such as the outer side of the sliding lid [Figs. The iron oxidation developed despite having applied a coat of a silicone surface-protection spray to the outer and inner sides of the lid (the rest of the feeder was not sprayed), and regularly cleaning the feeder every 30 to 45 days."
"What has happened, the little button that locks the lid in place to keep the squirrels away is frozen in place and makes it difficult to secure it."

"I have the same bird seed in it that is in the other feeders and I have the tension set so it does not move even with cardinals but they will refuse to eat out of it."
"I only feed the birds from around November 15 through April 15 and usually bring the feeder in at night in the early spring when bears become active. In fact, I have gotten a lot of pleasure and amusement from watching the squirrels in my neighborhood, and there are plenty of them, try to get into this feeder. The feature I like most about the feeder is the internal mechanism that allows you to adjust the weight that closes the access to the seeds."

"Not knowing terribly much about bird seed when I found an old feeder in my boyfriend's garage, I can't say if I got what I wanted because I really have no idea what that was. Squirrels, Robins, Chickadees, and I'm pretty sure also rabbits ALL flocked to the bare dirt spot underneath the feeder, and I am now a legitimate Snow White."
"this is the only bird feed I will buy...I feel it's one of the cleanest out there...I usually buy 2 bags at a time."
"Birds love It!!!"
"You will still attract a large number of birds and not be providing an inferior quality seed."
