I hesitated to pay $50 for a flea collar that might not work, but took the chance and ordered this Seresto collar. Since the collar worked, I've also ordered one for our little indoor dog and the indoor cat, who also have fleas (but not as many). If these collars really kill the fleas for 6-8 months, they are worth every penny of the cost. I also set off some Hot Shot flea fogger/bombs in our carpeted bedrooms, where we had fleas (the pets sleep with us)."

Fighting home flea infestations is a task that requires a lot of work, time and persistence. Pupae can remain dormant for up to 6-months, hiding in crevices and maturing into adult fleas, months after you’ve stopped fighting. Since they can linger in your home dormant, you want to stop them from growing into adulthood 6-months after you think you got rid of the problem. Once the pupae mature, they ‘wake’ up, sense the warmth of your pet, jump on your animal baby and start the cycle all over again. In the heat of the infestation, we would sprinkle and rub salt and diatomaceous earth in all the crevices and large swaths of the carpets. We’d also launder sheets, and doggie bed covers, and any fabric on which our dog would lie, in hot water, frequently. In order to gauge our progress, we set up a few desk lamps on the ground above aluminum dollar store food storage pans filled with soapy water. Fleas get attracted to the warmth of the light, move toward it and of course they can jump as high as four inches so in they would go into the water. Over time, the dead fleas in the soapy water diminished to the point that we knew we had won the battle. When we were going through our flea trauma I relied so heavily on these types of reviews that I wanted to “pay it forward.” Good luck to you."

"I have lived in an area of Maryland for 17 years and never saw one flea on any of my dogs or cats....not one! My husband and I vacuumed really well and discarded the contents in a sealed bag and "bombed" the house at 3 different times.....I am sure that it helped, but didn't do the trick. We purchased Nature's Wisdom Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (you want the food grade in case your pet licks their feet---you can even dust your pet with it) and put it on the carpets, furniture, floors, everywhere. We mopped the vinyl and ceramic floors with Clorox water and it worked instantly. I didn't wring all of the water out of the sponge mop because I wanted it to sit on the surface of the floor and especially around the baseboards. The other solution (and again you want a vacuum with a beater brush) was salt on the carpets and rugs. Okay, so my husband and I are out at one in the morning applying the nematodes because we are determined to rid that yard of fleas. We will be treating our yard every spring and fall with the nematodes to prevent the fleas in the first place."

"I've gotten pretty good at pulling them out, having removed more than even most vets do in an entire career. It then left me stunned (yet elated) at the realization that I actually just found removing a tick to be easy (almost enjoyable) lol. My only concern was that I'd drop the tick once removed, so I also bought a few other tick remover tools that look like tablespoon measuring sticks that are supposed to catch the tick once removed but I've never bothered to use them bc to my surprise, no matter how big or small, this thing grabs them so tightly that I often struggle to get them off the tool when putting in plastic bag lol also, these come in 2 sizes - the others only come in one, as you can see, I'm often dealing with microscopic ticks so having two sizes is incredibly useful (although I've grabbed the wrong one when removing a tiny tick, but the large one still worked so perfectly that I didn't even realize i had the larger one in my hand till I placed it down next to the small one lol). In all, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tool & I'm certainly gonna be using a lot of this thing...."
