"I put the collar on my dog and let him become accustomed to it for a week before I used the "nick" or "shock" options. I always used the audio option immediately before the shock so my dog understood that if he continued to ignore my command he was about to receive "that strange uncomfortable feeling". As soon as he obeyed my command, I gave him positive reinforcement (love and praise and occasionally a treat in the form of his favorite snack). "Absolutely fantastic dog. After having her for about a week, she decided to start jumping our fence to go say "hi" to all the other neighbourhood dogs and people lol. On Mille we never went over 50 but she is a smaller ( 25-30 lb) dog. I didn't want Mille to get hit by a car or attacked by another dog that didn't want her in their yard. Mille goes for 3 walks a day and the dog park at least every other day. But the other day my little pup dove straight into the creek (which was about 40 degrees at the time...lol) and then she came bounding back out of there, collar still working. It has not given me any problems since that little swim adventure, but come summertime, I can edit this review and give you a better idea of the durability under the water. But so far, the collar on my youngin has survived one submersion in the creek and countless roll-arounds in the snow and mud puddles. Otherwise, you have no idea which collar you are set on unless you look at the screen, and in a fast paced, think-quick scenario when a dog is bolting toward the road or chasing after the chubby mailman, you don't always have the convenience and luxury of taking the time to look at the screen, clicking on the (1&2) button, making sure it's on shock mode, and then administering the shock in time before your pup's standing in the roadway or nibblin' on the mailman's rear end. I would like a separate button from the other three settings (Light, Beep, Vibrate) so in case of a similar emergency as I just described, you won't have to look at the screen to be able to know whether your shocking the pup or perhaps just turning on the blinky light (which works pretty good when you lose your dog in the dead of night.). It's just not practical to create a shock collar remote and not put a lock feature on it to prevent such accidents. Petrainer made a wonderful product....but I just wanna look at the guy who designed the remote and ask him what in the world was he thinking."

Inside was a piece of paper from the company talking about the 60 day warranty, general information, and to say thank you. The tag picks up fingerprints really well and when i rubbed it on my shirt some tiny scratches popped up. Three lines looks to be a good fit for the tag size. 14-18 weeks old ish... -_-. So far she is running about the house like a missile and i think the tag is smacking her face. Ill be getting a much smaller circle thing tomorrow."

We never actually had to shock her, the beep and vibration were enough to teach her the boundaries of our yard. **Updated to add- I didn't think to mention this before, but I wasn't a fan of the collar that comes with the pet trainer so we used the collar we already had for our pup and it works great."
"They know their names, can sit, are nearly house broke, but will not come when you call them. I put these collars on them and in 15 mins they have a new out look when I call their names. I use the beep when I called their names and the vibrate to move them along."

I feel like with the use of the collar, he now respects me as his owner and knows I'm the one in charge. I have them always wear the collar during the day, but I only use them when the pups are not responding to my verbal cues. I give Petrainer five stars because the technology is more than what I paid for, but I give this particular collar only three stars because the transmitter falls off easily."
