When you're at high altitudes in the mountains this leads to longer "drink breaks" since you can get winded pretty easy while trying to suck up water through the LifeStraw."
"On top of one of the lower peaks, I drank from the most disgusting looking crevice filled with brown scum (see photo). Get one for your outdoor adventures, and one for your bug-out bag, which everyone should have in case of natural disaster (or apparently civil war, because the world seems to have gone mad)."
"As soon as I got this thing in the mail I went straight to the nastiest, most contaminated thing I could find."
"UPDATE - 4-25-2016. After more than 3-years of numerous weekend and 2-week excursions, my very first LifeStraw would not produce anymore clean filtered water. I really don't know how many liters of water that was used, but I can say this....with the coffee filter attached to this unit it out last my friends LifeStraw more than a year. Now, I use a Portable Siphon Hand Liquid Transfer Pump with this unit."
"So I intentionally got lost in the wilderness with a couple friends with the LifeStraw in my pocket and nothing else. We were going to die of dehydration out in the redwood wilderness, huddled around a useless LifeStraw. So I grab a cup of water and dunk the LifeStraw into it, letting it soak for a few minutes. Frantically I call my friends and tell them how it wasn't a piece of junk and how we were just stupid guys who didn't read the directions."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I asked some pretty solid questions since I wanted to make sure (like 100% sure) that this would work for me as it's going to be directly pumping into my innards and all. I heard back the same day (just an hour or so later actually) from their support team and we passed a volley of emails across which helped answer not only my questions but also gave me a lot of new insights about the nature of the stomach issues I had experienced previously while in Peru. More importantly, their support staff wanted to ensure that I would be getting the right product I needed even more than selling me one of theirs. That was the first of the tests, I'm now up in the high altitudes of the Andes and giving it another round of tests with the agricultural area and rivers and lakes and well, anything that I can find."
"This filter transformed "dirty" wildlife-inhabited pond water into clean, potable water. I didn't test the pond water to determine content because the Question to be answered was: Using this "purification filter - means 0.01 micron pore size - can I get potable water from a dirty pond source."
"My daughter and I, were amazed when the water pumped into cup was clear, no odor, and tasted as if it was bottled!!!"
"This filter takes out anything and leaves pure water and only pure water. This filter gives me cleaner and better tasting water than my filter system."
"Tested against a Sawyer inline filter in the same leaf ridden water, it tasted like perfectly clean, taste free water while the leaf flavor definitely came through on the Sawyer."
"Just received my survival filter pro, if you are in the market for a easy to operate water filtration system for camping, hiking, fishing or backpacking look no further."

So there's a few prefilters included, use them, or this wont work (that means you can use the straw about 5 times then you're out of filters by the way). In comparison, the life straw flaws about as fast as unfiltered water, which is very comfortable. the pump activated) or other brands any day if you're going to use this often though, including the lifestraw+steripen (UV kills most viruses) combo which is pretty decent, light, and much faster."
"Awesome, hope to never need but there if I do."
"have not used, hope I never have to, will put it in my bug out bag but it seems to be a useful water filter do not think I can filter a lot of water at a time but enough to keep hydrated in a pinch."
"In a cleaner area of the water I used without the pre-filter and had no trouble drawing the water. The straw attaches right to the bladder so you can drink your filtered water from the bladder through the straw. Now I need to purchase another one for my bug out bag."
"I'm trying to figure out how to fill water bottles/ Camelback with clean water."
"Have not had a opportunity to use it in the field yet but it is easily portable and simple to use."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I have an 18 ounce flask for the car and running around town that fits in the cup holder. I have a 64 ounce flask for road trips, since I am frequently driving cross country. My tea tends to discolor the interior with time and then a tiny bit of vinegar and some water swirled around makes it look like new again in seconds."
"I can't handle room temp water and this has solved the problem."
"I was excited to receive and use this water bottle but I got a regular lid as suppose to what the description says online."
"UPDATE I took this to Charleston South Carolina, sitting on the beach all day and I still had ice by the time I went home!"
"I did message the seller asking what I could do about this and unfortunately they said they don't offer any sort of warranty on it but I could try Hydroflask if I wanted to. I also have spoke with many friends who have ordered theirs directly from Hydroflask or through a different retailer and they haven't had any issues with their lids. Maybe there was just a bad supply of lids but very frustrating that I had to purchase another."
"The sport cap is perfect for a water bottle this size because when it's fully filled it's actually pretty heavy."
"It's not leak proof and since I use mine for hiking I'm always on the move and it leaks a bit. I don't mind it much, ill just go back to my original lids I usually use."
"This is a really hard review for me to write, I LOVE hydroflask products however I had an awful experience with this particular water bottle."

Find Best Price at Amazon"Originally, I couldn't justify spending this absurd amount of $ on a water bottle. But then he spent all day out in 90+ degree weather and came back incredibly enthusiastic, going on & on & on about how amazing it is. So I got another one for my teenager, who needed a water bottle, but doesn't pay much attention to mundane things like this. Even the straw lid (bought separately) is constructed so that it is much easier to clean than, say, a Camelbak. Flip top lid is also easy to use & clean, but the company warns that it is not watertight, and it definitely isn't - bottle must be kept upright, or it spills. 8) No BPAs (in case, after we've all been using them for years, "they" decide that HDPE 2 or other plastics aren't safe, after all.). (Ok, vacuum bottle - you can put other stuff in, but still...). 2) The screw on cap works great, but is not so convenient. The 40 oz is also quite tall; it overbalances in pockets made for water bottles (e.g. on all our backpacks. If you're drinking in a library, people will notice ;-). I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants a great water bottle."
"I'm wonder if there is different models or something I've shared photos I took off from Amazon... my original hydro flask has the logo that isn't filled in where all three new ones I bought have the all white filled in logo... is there different versions or what!?!"
"Hydro Flask is my favorite of the many insulated bottles that I own--and I own 4 Hydro Flask bottles."
"The bottle is very well made and does not disappoint whatsoever it keeps water cold forever and I mean that."
"I had a couple of prerequisites to the bottle I would end up buying: doesn't condensate, large enough, transportable, stylish, and keeps my drink cold. Outside in classes through the week at the University, the bottle kept Pepsi with no ice, cold for a solid day (so I'm example, from 9am till midnight still cold). I am very impressed and will be recommending this bottle to friends and those interested in a very solid Trusty bottle."
"BEWARE I don't think these are all authentic."
