I think it was about $14 so if it didn't work out... well, I'd be annoyed about it, but it wouldn't be the worst thing... ive had my kiting dreams crushed many a time before. My daughter is bummed that it doesnt fly and thats a wrap....as I say to myself, "please, please don't ask to play with this thing for another year!" I was planning to add this to her christmas gifts, but when it arrived I thought, "we live in ny. The rods are strong and stable, the material arrived and still is inntact... not made of plastic. And of course the little one was pumped about it being rainbow :). I want to take a second just to say thank you to this company, to the seller, and to anyone else who went into making/creating this oh-so-simple-to-fly kite. Find Best Price at Amazon"You might not think 10.3 ounces is a lot, but if a paddle is too heavy, it can start to become an issue. As an adult, the weight was just fine, and I like my 7.5 ounce Franklin Python. The Python that I use is made from Aluminum, we also have a Franklin Viper, a carbon fiber paddle that weighs 8.2. I'll post a picture with the review comparing the Franklin Volt which weighs almost the same but does not feel as great. The longer handle gives the Amazin' Aces a better feel in my hand than the $10 Franklin Volt. The kids weren't bothered by the paddle's 10.3 ounces and had a great time playing. Will these become my paddles of choice, probably not, but they are nothing to bat an eye at and are fantastic when we take a larger group to play without hesitating to hand it over to a friend with excuses that the paddle isn't good, because it is. The knock when the ball connects with the wood just feels right, and sounds great. Now compare that to the entry-level Franklin Volt paddle which doesn't feel good when connecting with the ball. It could also be that the Aces slightly longer handle helps with the feel of the hit. The comfort of the grip is excellent, and the padded ridges create an even better playing experience. It's not a big deal, and something I can fix with some very fine sandpaper, but I do wish it were already smooth. That being said, the Aces are part of a kit, and at a pretty good value, so it's hard to knock them for that."
