Keep extending the springy wire and inserting it into the tub's overflow drain until you hit something and can't easily continue feeding the wire. Loosen the screw again and continue feeding the wire into the drain hole further, tightening the screw when you hit places that stop you and spinning the canister / drum. Turn on the hot water and let that run over the springy wire as you pull it back out (to rinse it off)."
"It did take some time to actually do the job though."
"If you break through the clog pull it back about a foot and keep to get the rest of the clog about 3-4 more times if need be."
"Got tired of using liquid plumber and gave this a try in the bath tub."
"Used this to unclog a drain upstairs that has a drain linked to the furnace."
"We had a damn nail with hair wrapped around in the drain 25 ft in- pulled out all of my long thick hairs and the nail. ADVICE. My husband got mad after not being able to feed however you have to twist while feeding :) This will help navigate all the corners and angles!"
"We had one of our kitchen sinks with a clog at least 15 feet down the drain pipe. I tried chemical drain cleaners (which I hate to do), boiling water, vinegar and baking soda."
"Also, the crank doesn't push or recoil the snake, meaning after putting it down your nasty, clogged toilet drain, you have to force it back into the coil by hand."

"My wife brushes her hair there so I was sure there was a hairball in the drain. I poked this thing as far as I could, up to the handle, down the drain, wiggled it around and pulled it out. Pulled it out and there was a hairball about the size of a mouse hooked on the bottom end of this thing."
"At first, it wasn't bad, just a couple inches in the bottom of the tub, but when it got to the point that the water rose to mid-calf and didn't drain for 30 min. For reference I have one of those tubs with the plunge drain thing that refuses to come out, so I had to work around the open plunge thing."
"I ran across these on fb ad and watched a quick video of it going down the drain easily and then the person was immediately pulling out a ton of hair on the FIRST TRY! The snake is very durable and the jagged edges make it easy to pull up any debris stuck in drain or pipe."
"I cleaned it after each use and managed to cut myself. I made sure to work it around so it went in from each direction (there is either a bar or a cross shape under the trap) cleaning it off each time (using a rag or paper towel prevented more cuts). My final step is pouring in a half cup baking soda, a cup of vinegar, and when the, bubbles stop, using my electric kettle to pour in a few cups boiling water (DO NOT do while in the tub/shower)."
"I’ve got long hair and brush and blow dry and straighten my hair over my sink in our bathroom- well when I brush my teeth and wash my face my sink fills up with water."
"These works as expected to unclog minor clogs of hair and gunk."

Usage: suitable use for sewer, bathtub drain, bathroom drain, stall-shower drain, kitchen sink, downspouts, central vacuums etc.

"Hard to use, barely worked, took 20 minutes but I was rearward with a big hairball deep in my pipes!"
"I got this plumbing snake and pipe cleaner to clean out my shower and other pipes around the house."
"Otherwise, your hands will get wet and may contact bleach or clog cleaner which are really bad for the skin."
"It also comes with gloves, the gloves are a little bit on the small side though."
"This took a bit for my husband to figure out because the design is different than the average snake but he raves about it to all of his plumber friends."
