The hot faucet is hot enough to cook one's tea or coffee or any other steaming hot beverage at approximately 168° F. Due to the extremely hot water, we’ve added a child safety lock on the hot water faucet. This water cooler is bottle-less with an NSF certified activated carbon filter in the cabinet and a water line that can be attached to your water source. The water is taken from your water source and filtered through the filter and then through the machines hot and cold water tanks. CHILD SAFE & BUILT IN NIGHT-LIGHT: This product is UL/Energy Star Approved and features a child safety lock on the hot water spout so the entire family can use it worry free!

I've included a video than compares the sound of this water cooler with my refrigerator and you can hear that until I put the microphone right up to this unit you can't really hear much of anything, and then when I move on to the refrigerator it's over twice as loud as the water cooler. I've never used a cooler like this before and I'm finding it so convenient - we make drip coffee in the morning and we don't have to stand there while the water is heating up, we can just instantly dispense it out of this unit."

It will work with any 1/4 inch line filter system, including R/O. Mine has not a drip even with all the 1/4 inch lines for the filter system. If you are concerned about leaking, put a small pan under the heater and use a $10 water alarm."
