This is the first time I’ve used a Himalayan salt lamp and I found it to be quite enjoyable. The box itself was of high quality and adorned with handles made of (surprisingly sturdy) ribbon. Turning the lamp on or off only requires a simple tap on its polished surface while resting your finger on it allows you to easily adjust brightness. The reason I like this so much is because with my other lamps, I would have to fumble a little bit before I got a good grasp on the switch to either turn it on or off. I’ve heard of the many beneficial claims that Himalayan salt lamps have, but I feel many of these, if true, are only noticeable after long term use. At its lowest brightness setting, the lamp creates a soft amber glow that is very soothing. I pair this with the use some lavender essential oil (not on the lamp - I spray some on my pillow) for some aroma therapy and the effects are great. The DC adapter is colored to go with it, and as a nice bonus touch, there's a USB port behind the stem for charging phones or other devices. Most of the lamps I considered were TaoTronics as they tend to have a very strong following with many positive reviews, not to mention they have been praised as some of the brightest LED desk lamps you can find for under $50.00. I previously had a small LED desk lamp and a tall fluorescent halo lamp that I could use overhead and move around as needed. A long array with a nice, even light output would provide for a better area of coverage than my previous lamps, which this TaoTronics lamp promised to provide. I use all three lamps to provide as much light as possible, however, it is still very obvious how much brighter the desk area is with the TaoTronics lamp on. The light from this lamp outshines my previous lamps as opposed to simply being washed out like dim headlights under street lamps. The LED array on this lamp is too bright to look at, but when looking at the lamp from any angle other than right up into the array, it does not bother my eyes at all. It provides a nice soft light you can use as a nightlight or an absolutely bright daylight lamp for a desk, work area, reading, ect."
"This Elune lamp will work well as a craft lamp on the "study" setting at highest output. When the dedicated craft lamps die I'll be replacing them with these, but not before I add another as a bedside reading lamp. I suspect the RFI noise source is the dimmer circuit, since when the LED is off (but the power supply is still plugged-in and on) there is no noise. So Bottom line: As a lamp alone, and if you don't mind using a device that significantly contributes to the ever increasing RFI noise background on the planet, this is an OK device and rates 4.5 stars."
