Cons: Heavy tool, not small, can be a handful on wide orbit setting, more expensive than the Metabo. Please note, the Vac002 adapter Amazon sells does not fit this sander. My collection of sanders has grown a bit, I now have a festool 125 for smaller jobs as well as an older makita that will numb your hands in 5 minutes and a dewalt quarter sheet sander that is handy for those jobs that have corners that need to be gotten into."

Find Best Price at Amazon"Standing there what seems to be hours of tedious sanding through the various grits with a dusk mask on, a fan to blow away the dust particles or a dust collector octopus hose attachment can be annoying, especially if you have an uncomfortable sander in your hands. If you don't have the dust collector hooked up, be prepared to sand in dust cloud and get covered with fine dust particles. I was looking at something that was compact, had a good center of gravity (unlike the 6" Porter Cable where the center of gravity is off set to the side along the main body), is powerful, and provide a good dust collection bag that actually works (and we all know that some sanders come with dust collection bags but are an after thought and really collect nothing but air). I own a Dewalt DW735 planer (love this tool also) and the dust port on the DW735 is so strong that all you have to do is hook it up to a dust collector and turn on the planer, there is no need to turn on the dust collector because of the force of the planer blows dust and chip particles right into the dust collector bag. I opened up the dust bag and noticed that the dust had been efficiently placed in the dust bag. what a great feeling, a powerful sander, that has a dust collection bag that actually works, is light, maneuverable, and is not fighting me along the way to sanding down a project."

I would recommend that you do this outside because you can smell the fumes of heated up plastic and paint. Speaking of which, I wish it had another button on the side that turned the heating elements on/off separately from the fan speed. That way you could turn on the fan, adjust the temperature and then kick on the heat when you needed it. I may coat it with some rubber handle dip for tools that I have sitting on my shelf when I get a moment. Don’t try to dry your hair with this, it can easily burn your hand if held close up in the airflow. It probably is a heat resistant part silicone coated cord, or maybe not. To be able to heat shrink without having to work it around all sides of the tubing would be nice. That is a must if applying heat shrink to wires that are in a compartment or box where you couldn’t get around to all sides of the tubing. If you apply paint over a dried surface but still wet interior of a mud patch, more than likely you will find cracked and peeling paint the next day as the moisture in the mud has migrated out."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I hook it up to a standard Shop Vac or my Festool CT26 and very little dust escapes, most especially with the smaller spindles where there is more surface area on the plastic rings for dust evacuation holes. There is on board storage for the various rubber spindle sizes and the orange spindle inserts as the photo shows. Unfortunately, there is no on board storage for the miscellaneous washers that you need for the different spindles- though there is a slot for the wrench as was pointed out to me in an attached comment. It would have been trivial to mold in a plastic tray or two into the side of the plastic cover, but for this price you're not looking for design nuance. note on 3/4" sleeves: Almost all of my work is with the 3/4" spindle so I go through a disproportionately large number of these sleeves vs. other sizes. As a result, combo packs of sleeves are wasteful in my case. I've found that the DELTA 31-792 3/4-Inch 80 Grit Sanding Sleeves for 31-780 Spindle Sander (6-Pack) fits the billl - all i get are 3/4" sleeves and they're a reasonable price on Amazon."

I bolted the WEN to a plywood base, and using some scrap cabinet-grade plywood, made a table that is solid, exactly 90 degrees to the disc, and can be adjusted to get as close to the disc as I need it to be. If I ever need to sand at an angle, I can just put the table back on (but beware, the angle gage for the table is made of tape and is very inaccurate!"

"The main reason it only received two stars is because it struggled to sand some of the larger pieces I was working on, eventually coming to a stop. If I used my hand to get the belt going, the motor would eventually kick in and turn the belt, but it would be so slow it wouldn't be useful."
