The springy exterior of the mask keeps the straps from pulling out, keeps the valve where it needs to be and holds the mask shape. Find Best Price at Amazon"I would suggest only removing two of the four connections, and then install two of the new harness connections before repeating the process for the remaining two connections as that enables you to see exactly how the connections twist in place while you are doing it. I had removed the entire, old broken harness, and then when I got ready to install the new once, it took a few minutes to figure out how the connections twisted in place since the connections are made with curves in the harness."
