"I get the die to where it seems to be straight but hand pressure doesn't come close to moving it, hit it with more lube and grip it with the pliers and start to turn it. The amount of force needed was significant enough to make me slightly worried so I grabbed my safety glasses, (hard metals can be brittle and I didn't want to risk anything if it shattered under pressure) and kept at it. It stayed pretty straight and finally hit the existing, functional section of threading and I was able to use hand pressure again."
