The transmitter comes with a 48 inch long charging cable that you can use to charge it with using your computer's USB port or the USB AC wall charger that comes with the unit. There is also a charging port on the top and when you plug in the charging cable the LED on the unit turns red and indicates that the device is charging. Turn on the Bluetooth receiver unit and then press and hold the transmitter on button for 5 to 6 seconds until the LED begins to flash blue and red. When I turned the unit back on it automatically paired to the last device that it was connected with as long as that smart device has not been paired to any other Bluetooth item. The Bluetooth transmission distance is about 33 feet but when pairing it is best to have the unit within about 3 feet of your receiving device."
